Astoria supports multiple methods for finding objects or content of interest in the repository.
Search Method | Description |
---|---|
Basic Search | Supports common search operations on selected objects. Search results are displayed in the Details view. All system user can specify and submit a Basic Search. |
Saved Searches | Supports more complex searches that can be executed repeatedly. A saved search may prompt the user for parameters when it is run. Search results are displayed in the Details view. Astoria provides a set of predefined saved searches. Additional saved searches can be created by a system administrator using the Astoria Search tool. See About Saved Searches. |
Global Substitution tool | Supports a global find and replace process. The Global Substitution supports the use of regular expressions. See Global Substitution. |
Look Up by Object Id | Application administrators can find repository objects by looking them up by their object ID. |
Quick Search | Search for strings in a view column. See Using Quick Search in a View. |
Search HTML Browse View | With a Browse view active, click Ctrl+F and enter the search term and criteria. |
Filter View tool | Filter rows in a Details view. See Filtering Rows in Tabular Views. |
Filter Selection List tool | Filter rows in a selection list. In dialogs that allow you to choose a selection from a list, click the filter icon (![]() ![]() |
Locate commands | Allow you to select an object in many views or editors and locate it or its related objects in the Navigation View hierarchy. See About Locate Commands. |
