About Searchability

You can hierarchically determine whether files or documents are searchable.

Astoria allows you to decide if repository objects can be searched. The options, which can be found on the appropriate property sheets, are:

Inherited
If selected, indicates the searchable state is inherited from the parent container.
Searchable
If selected, indicates the object is searchable. If cleared, the object is not searchable. This check box is not enabled if Searchability is set to Inherited.

If neither option is selected, the object is not searchable.

If objects in the repository that previously were not searchable are changed to be searchable (either through inheritance or directly specified), Astoria must have the indexes rebuilt in order for the object to be searchable.
