Setting the Scope of a Search to be Documents Referenced by a Map

Astoria search limits results to be contained within the set of selected objects. If a map is selected, results must reside within the map itself; potential results in submaps or topics referenced by the map will not be returned.

Use this method to perform a search against a map or bookmap and its referenced structured documents.
  1. Right-click the map and select Relationships > List What Used.
The Details view displays the objects referenced by the map.
Tip: If you intend to perform multiple searches on the collection of objects, Pin the Details view so your searches don't overwrite the collection.
  2. Modify the Details view presentation to include a column Object Type.
  3. Click the Object Type column heading to sort the list in the Details view.
  4. Make an extended selection of all the Structured Document rows in the Details view.
  5. Right-click the selected objects and select either Search > Basic or Search > Saved Search.
  6. Provide the search criteria and click OK.
Search results are returned in a Details view. If you pinned the collection, search results appear in a new instance of the Details view.
