Details for the Translation Package Contains Field

This topic provides additional information about the impact of specifying the Translation Package contains field in the Start Translation dialog.

Option	Description
All documents	Always select this option for the initial translation of a document. The translation package will include all documents referenced by the selected structured document. However, there are exceptions: If a referenced document is already included in a different in-progress translation job, it will not be included in the translation package. In this case, the email notification sent to the user who starts the translation will list these excluded documents. If the application document check box Always send All Documents for translation is selected, all documents will be included in the translation package, even those that are included in a different in-progress translation job. In this case, the translated documents are uploaded in the order in which the translated translation packages are uploaded, without regard to the order in which the translations were started. Importing an older translation package may cause documents in a more recent translation package to be overwritten.
Only documents that have changed	The translation package will contain only documents that have changed since the last translation job completed. The entire document is sent for translation, but elements are marked with a special attribute to indicate whether they need translation. This attribute is `astX:md`. A value of `true` indicates that the element should be translated. Only elements marked with `astX:md="true"` will be re-imported into the target language document; elements without this attribute will be ignored, even if the translator modifies their content. Note: If an element has the `astX:md="true"` attribute, all of its children will have this attribute value as well.
Update Pending Translation	Available only if a translation is already in progress on the document you selected. Selecting this option creates a translation package that can be merged into the in-progress translation package. It will include only those documents that have changed since the currently in-progress translation was started. See Updating a Pending Translation (No Translation Vendor Configured). Important: You cannot import the package created by this operation into Astoria by itself, because it will fail. You can only extract the files in this package and merge it into the previous package.
