The WAN Bridge for XMetaL installs an Astoria Sandbox on your local machine.
When you open a document from the repository for editing in XMetaL, a copy of the file is placed in your Sandbox, a folder on your local machine. The document in the repository is locked. All editing functions are performed on the document in the Sandbox.
The Sandbox is located at Users\yourusername\.astoria\sandbox\systemname.
During an editing session, you can perform interim saves to the Sandbox folder. The document is not saved in the repository.
When you check in the document, it is saved in the repository and unlocked. The copy of the file is removed from the Sandbox. If you revoke edit on a document you have opened from the Sandbox, it is removed from the Sandbox.
If XMetaL closes or the repository network connection becomes unavailable before you check in the document, the last saved copy of the document remains in the Sandbox.
