You can include a Location Link, View Link, or Object Id in an email or message sent to an individual user or group of users.
Note: The
Location Link,
View Link, and
GUID commands are affected by the option selected in the
Send Link Options field in your
User Properties form. See
Modifying User Properties.
Right-click the repository object to create the link and select:

Email |
An email message form appears. The email message field contains the link. The From field contains your email address. The Subject field contains the name of the object you selected. |
Clipboard |
Your clipboard contains the link. You can open an email form and paste the link in the message area, send the link through another messaging application., or paste the link for other processing purposes. |
- When a recipient clicks on a Location Link, the Workbench Navigation view expands to the object's location and it is highlighted.
- When a recipient clicks on a View Link, the object is displayed in either the user's Workbench or the Astoria Reviewer interface, depending on the option they have selected in the Settings dialog. See Specifying User Settings.
- When an administrator receives an Object Id, they can use it to locate the object in the repository.
