Modifying a View Presentation

Individual users can modify a system-defined view presentation to customize the information shown in the view columns for various object types.

You can modify a presentation in these views:
  1. Select a view or display an object of the type for which you want to modify the view presentation.
    For example,
    • Select the My Checkouts view.
    • Click a folder to modify the columns displayed when listing folder contents in a Details view.
    • Perform a search to modify the columns displayed in a list of search results in a Details view.
  2. Click in the view toolbar.
    The Configure Presentation dialog appears.
  3. To add a column to the view:
    1. Click Add Column.
      The Configure Column dialog appears.
    2. From the Properties list, select the type of column to add.

      For example, select Item Flavor to display the object type for Structured Documents, such as dita_concept, dita_map_map. For graphic type folders contained in a folder hierarchy, the item flavor is graphics.

      For example, select Ancestry to display the cabinet and folder hierarchy of the object.

      The property you select appears in the Display Name field.
    3. Accept or modify the Default Width value.
      The default value is 150. This value controls the column width when the view is displayed. Users can drag column headers to temporarily modify a column width in the displayed view.
    4. Select a Sort value.
      Only one column can specify a default sort value in the presentation. Users can click column headers to temporarily sort or reverse the sort order in the displayed view.
    5. For most column properties, accept the value or leave blank the Parameter field.
    6. Click OK.
      The column is added as the last column in the Configure Presentation dialog.
  4. To modify a column already defined in the configuration:
    1. Select the column in the Configure Presentation dialog.
    2. Click Edit Column.
      The Configure Column dialog appears.
    3. Modify values as desired.
    4. Click OK.
    The changes are saved in the column configuration.
  5. To change the order of the columns in the presentation:
    1. Select the column in the Configure Presentation dialog.
    2. Click Move Up or Move Down until the column is listed in the desired location.
  6. To delete a column defined in the configuration:
    1. Select the column in the Configure Presentation dialog.
    2. Click Remove Columns.
    The column is removed from the presentation.
  7. When you have finished all modifications to the presentation, click OK.
The view presentation is modified and the view now shows the changes you have made.
