Configuring Annotations

A system administrator must configure the Astoria application to support the use of annotations, and determine what repository objects may have annotations attached.

Determine the level at which annotation options will be set, and which view option you want to implement. See Annotation View Options.

  1. Access the repository object where you want to set the Annotation View Options.
    • To set at the global level, open the application document to edit.
    • To set at the DTD or individual document level, right-click the DTD or document and select File > Show Properties.
  2. Access the Annotation View Option field.
    • In the application document, scroll down to the field.
    • In the DTD or individual document, click the Custom Attributes tab, click Add, then from the Choose Custom Attributes dialog, select Annotation View Option and click OK.
  3. From the Annotation View Option list, select the desired option.
If you select the include or exclude option, you must also specify a list of annotation elements, as follows.
    • In the application document, enter a list of element names in the Annotation Elements field, each separated by the vertical bar.
    • In the DTD or individual document Custom Attributes tab, click Add, and select Annotation Elements. Move element names from the Available list to the Present list.
Note: The list contains only those element names in the DTD.
  4. Save the annotation settings in the repository.
    • Check in the application document, providing a Version Note indicating what you changed.
    • In the DTD or individual document, click OK.
The annotation settings are saved and are immediately in effect.
