Custom Attribute Definition

A custom attribute definition is a repository object that identifies a type of user-defined information to be attached to or removed from objects in the repository.

Custom attributes might be used to attach a status code to an object, such as a file. Custom attributes are used to create annotation definitions. Custom attribute definitions can be created only by administrators. See About Custom Attributes.

Access controls can be specified on a custom attribute definition that grant create, update, and modify permissions to users for objects located anywhere in the cabinet hierarchy.
