Several methods allow you to select or multiselect repository objects to move or copy to a new repository location.
Selecting to Drag and Drop
Within the Navigation View, you can select a single folder object to drag to another folder in the Navigation View.
If the source and target folders are distant from each other in the Navigation View, it may be difficult to drag objects to a new location. In this case, you can use other methods to achieve your goal.
- Move one or multiple objects from one Details View to a new folder location:
- Display the objects to be moved in a source Details View using one of these methods:
Tip: You may want to pin the source Details View.
- Select a folder in the Navigation View to display its contents in a source Details View.
- Generate a list of objects by searching or by relationships in a Details View.
- Display the target folder using one of these methods:
- Scroll or expand the Navigation View cabinet's hierarchy until the target folder is visible.
- Select a folder, and dock a target Details View next to the pinned source Details View.
- In the source view, select or multiselect the objects to be moved.
The selected objects are highlighted.
- Drag and drop the object or objects onto the target folder in the Navigation View or into the docked target Details View.
- Select or multiselect objects in the Recent Activity View or My Checkouts View and drag them to a new folder location. The objects are moved to the new folder location. However, they are still displayed in the Recent Activity View or My Checkouts View.
Selecting to Cut and Paste or Copy and Paste
Within the Navigation View you can select a single folder object to cut and paste or copy and paste to another folder in the Navigation View.
You can multiselect objects to cut and paste or copy and paste into a new folder location in these views:
- Details
- Recent Activity
- My Checkouts
