Change Page Pro is a licensed feature of Astoria that publishes updates to an SGML document that include only those pages that have changed, omitting pages that remain unchanged. Change Page Pro requires Arbortext Change Page for Defense (CPD) to provide this functionality.
Change Page Pro manages the working document in Astoria and keeps track of output files from publishing operations. CPD handles the placement of page breaks, printing of change bars, creation of insert pages, and creation of front and back matter, such as List of Effective Pages, Table of Contents, and Index.
Three objects are created and stored securely in the Astoria repository as a result of a publish operation. Together these objects are called a Change Package:
In order to keep track of pages that have been published before, Change Page Pro requires an initial publish operation, called a baseline. The baseline output PDF file contains all pages in the document. Subsequent publish operations can produce pages that have changed since the last publish operation, whether a baseline or previous change pages.
A revision can be published that contains all the pages in the document, repaginated and renumbered to remove point pages. A revision differs from a baseline in that one or more Change Packages have previously been published, and change bars can be included for material new since the last publish operation.
Baselines, revisions, and change pages can all be produced using the Publish Change Pages command.
