Astoria allows you to set a
hierarchical policy for pruning versions of unstructured files.
In normal repository cabinets, the pruning policy can be set at the cabinet, folder, or individual file level. For documents under Release Management, the pruning policy can be set at the Products container, Product Group, Product, or Release level. Lower-level objects in the hierarchy inherit the policy unless a policy is set explicitly.
Note: Versions of unstructured files that are referenced from a structured document are not candidates for pruning. Also, graphics that have a snapshot applied, either on the graphic itself or on the element in a structured document that references the graphic, will not be pruned, even if they exceed the set number of versions to keep.
The Pruning Policy options, which can be found on the appropriate property sheets, are as follows:
Option |
Description |
Inherit Policy |
Indicates pruning policy is inherited from parent container. |
Keep All Versions |
Keep all versions of the document. |
Set Policy |
Keep a specified number of recent versions. Older versions are pruned. |
