Specifying the Backstop DTD Folder

An administrator can specify the default DTD folder for the repository.

The backstop DTD folder controls the default location of the DTD field in the Properties dialog of a well-formed XML document that has an empty DOCTYPE declaration (that is, it does not reference a DTD).
  1. In the Workbench Ribbon, select the Administration tab, then click Backstop DTD Folder.
The DTD Folder Backstop Property dialog appears.

The DTD Folder field displays the default folder. If the field is empty, no default folder has been specified.

  2. Click Browse.
The Choose Default DTD Folder dialog appears. If a default folder has already been specified, its location in the repository hierarchy appears in the dialog.
  3. To specify a default DTD folder or to change the existing default, navigate to a new folder location or click to create a new folder to be the default.
  4. Select the folder and click OK.
The backstop DTD folder property is saved in the repository.

When you first import an XML instance as a structured document and the instance has an empty DOCTYPE declaration, then select File > Show Properties on that structured document, in the Properties dialog the DTD field is empty. If you click Browse, the Select DTD dialog appears, initially displaying the folder that is designated as the Backstop DTD folder.
