Importing an Unstructured File

You can import an unstructured file from a local file system into the repository.

1. Navigate to the folder location where you want the unstructured file to be placed.
2. Right-click the folder and select File > Import File.
   The Import File(s) dialog appears.

   
   

   

   
   
3. Click Browse, then navigate to and select the unstructured file in the file system.
   The File Name(s) field displays the file you have selected.

   You can multiselect additional files, if desired. The path in the file system is shown in quotation marks for each file you select.

4. If necessary, modify the file Name and enter a Description to be used in the repository.
   If you have multiselected files, each file name appears in quotation marks. Enter multiple descriptions enclosed in quotation marks.
5. If necessary, change the Location field by browsing to and selecting a different location.
6. To ensure future file imports that reference this file at the same full path should point to this repository object, select the Create System Id(s) check box.
   If the check box is cleared, no system id is created.
7. Click OK.
