Exporting or Importing Presentation Settings

An administrator can export or import global presentation settings using a local file system.

These commands are most useful for organizations who use a secondary Astoria repository for development or staging and want to replicate global presentation settings that have been developed and/or validated on the other system.
Note: Imported or exported presentation settings files contain only globalized settings. Any personalized settings are preserved when global settings are imported.
  1. To export a Presentation Settings file:
    1. Using the Workbench Ribbon or the context menu of an object, select Administration > Presentation > Export Presentation Settings.
The Export Presentation Settings dialog appears.
    2. In the Look in field, select the location where the exported file will be stored.
    3. Accept the default presentationSettings.xml File name or modify the name as desired.
    4. Click Export.
The XML file is exported to the location you selected.
  2. To import a Presentation Settings file:
    1. Using the Workbench Ribbon or the context menu of an object, select Administration > Presentation > Import Presentation Settings.
The Import Presentation Settings dialog appears.
    2. In the Look in field, navigate to the location where the file to be imported is stored.
    3. In the dialog's list, select the file containing the presentation settings and click Import.
The XML file is imported into the repository. The global settings from the repository from which the file was exported are replicated, and can be further viewed (or modified) using the Presentation Settings option of the Preferences dialog.
