Executing the Show History Command

Astoria supports several methods for executing the Show History command for a repository object.

• Execute the Show History command for a structured document or unstructured file using one of these methods:

  Tool	Description
  Workbench Ribbon	Select the object in a Workbench view. In the Workbench Ribbon Versioning tab, click Show History ().
  A Workbench View	Right-click the object in a view and select Versioning > Show History.
  Breadcrumbs	Right-click the object in the breadcrumbs and select Versioning > Show History.
  A Workbench Dialog	Many Workbench dialogs display repository object names. For example, What Used or Where Used dialogs list documents in relationship to a selected object. From the list, right-click the object and select Versioning > Show History.
  Properties Dialog	Right-click the object and select File > Show Properties. In the Properties dialog, click History.

• Execute the Show History command for an element using one of these methods:

  Tool	Description
  Workbench Ribbon	Select the element in a Workbench view. In the Workbench Ribbon Versioning tab, click Show History ().
  Navigation View	Navigate to the structured document that contains the element of interest. Expand the object's hierarchy by clicking on elements to drill down to the element of interest. Right-click the element and select Versioning > Show History.
  Details View	If a Details View contains a list of elements (for example, in search results), right-click the element and select Versioning > Show History.
  From External Editor Menu	With the structured document that contains the element of interest open for editing, place your cursor inside the element and invoke the command: For Arbortext, click Astoria > Show History For the oXygen editor, click Astoria > Show History For XMetaL, click Repository > Show History Note: If the element did not exist when the document was last checked in, no history is available.
