An authorized user can edit an existing annotation.
Typically all users are authorized to edit annotations they have created. Additional authorization may be required to edit annotations added by other users.
- To edit an annotation using the Reviewer interface or a Browse view:
- Navigate to or View the topic with the annotation to be edited.
- Click the comment box in the right margin on the desired element.
An annotation details box appears. If the annotation has replies, they are nested in boxes.
- In the annotation or an annotation reply box, click Edit.
The annotation type dialog box appears. You cannot change the annotation Type.
- Edit other fields as desired, then click Save.
The annotation is saved with a new date and time indicated.
- To edit an annotation on a folder object or document element using a Workbench context menu command, or to a structured document element using an integrated XML editor repository menu command:
- Navigate to the object of interest or open the document to edit.
To show annotations on an element, you can expand the structured document in the Navigation view and select the element. To show annotations using an integrated XML editor, select the element.
- Issue the Show Annotations command.
From the Workbench, select . From the integrated editor, select .
The Annotations dialog appears.
- Select the annotation to edit in the Annotations box.
- Edit other fields as desired, then click OK.
The Annotations dialog closes, and your changes are saved in the repository with a new date and time. Refresh or reload the object to see the changes.
