Creating a Composition Profile Folder

Create a composition profile folder to store profiles for use with composition jobs to the DITA-OT, and grant appropriate permissions to users or groups.

Tip: Although composition profiles can be stored in any folder or cabinet in the repository, storing them in a folder created for that purpose assists in locating and using profile files, and managing permissions on them.
You can create multiple composition profile folders at various hierarchical locations in the repository, each with different user or group permissions. An administrator can specify one folder as the default backstop folder for composition profiles.
  1. Create and Name a folder at the desired location in the repository.
Tip: Include the words Composition Profiles in the folder name to make it easy to find by searching for folder names.
  2. Optionally, add a Description to the folder providing more details about its purpose.
  3. Using the Define Access Controls command, grant permissions on the folder to users or groups.
Note: These permissions may already be inherited by users or groups. If so, there is no need to grant them explicitly on the folder.
    1. Grant Insert Into Container and Check Out privileges to users or groups who will be creating and modifying profiles.
    2. Grant View Container Contents to all users or groups who will be specifying profiles in composition jobs.
