You can use the context menu to add a chapter or appendix element to a bookmap, then reference chapter or appendix topics or maps.
- In the Document Structure area, right-click a map element adjacent to where you want to place the chapter or appendix element.
- Select one of these options for the location of the chapter or appendix element.
- Add Before
- Add After
- Add Child
- From the list of element types, select chapter or appendix.
A chapter or appendix element is added to the bookmap in the location you specify.
- Select the chapter or appendix element you just added and in the Element Details area, select Add Attribute, then from the list, select href.
The Edit Attribute dialog appears.
- Click Browse for Topic, then navigate to and select a topic or map from the repository, and click OK.
The Edit Attribute Value field displays the URL for the object you selected.
- Click OK.
- If you selected a map, the Element Details area contains:
- An href attribute with the URL for the map.
- A format attribute with the value ditamap.
- If you selected a topic, the Element Details area contains:
- An href attribute with the URL for the topic.
- A format attribute with the value dita.
- A type attribute with the value of the topic type (such as task, concept, reference).
- Optionally, add other attribute values to the chapter or appendix element as desired.
