You can pin a Details or Browse view so that selecting objects or invoking other commands will not overwrite the information currently displayed, but will open a new instance of the view.
For example, pin the results of a search in a Details view to retain the list of objects. Opening another Details view creates a new view, allowing you to return to the pinned search results.
To pin a view, with the view active, click .
The tab label for a pinned view indicates it is pinned: . If you pin multiple views, they are displayed in a tabbed notebook. Many pinned views are preserved when the Workbench is closed and launched again.
When you close a pinned view (click in the view tab), the content of the view is no longer retained.
